Local Instructor Tests to 5^th Degree Master Black Belt
Introducing Toddler Karate – Power Turtles

Auburn, MA  August 21, 2007 – Barbara W. McCoy, owner of McCoy’s Action Karate in Sturbridge MA, has earned the right to test for 5^th Degree Master Black Belt this month. As part of the master’s test, she has created, tested and has had approved a curriculum that expands the martial arts past the current level. Her chosen area of specialization was Toddler Karate (Focusing on Ages 2 -3).  As part of the approval process, she will be presenting a free class Friday 24^th, 2007 entitled, Power Turtles – Karate for Toddler Development. The class will be held at 5:30pm at McCoy’s Action Karate Auburn, MA and is open to the public. The class presumes adult participation, so come willing able to enjoy the fun and watch your toddlers grow.

 
“The Power Turtle program was created to enable both young children and their parents to experience the physical and mental benefits of the martial arts, says Barbara McCoy, “and creates a stimulating environment that actually develops self confidence by learned success.”

Barbara has been a student of Karate for 20 years and a certified instructor for over 8 years. She has taught in 3 states and learned 3 styles of martial arts, while maintaining her love of helping parents and children grow beyond their known potentials. The Power Turtles allows us to teach an age group often forgotten about, in direct contact with their primary care givers; helps develop and build trust and basic physical skills in their child. The class is 30 minutes to 45 minutes long, and guaranteed to be fun as well as rewarding.

The Class will be held at the Auburn McCoy’s Action Karate, but is open to anyone in the general area of any of their schools in Auburn, Spencer or Sturbridge, MA. Please call McCoy’s Action Karate to reserve your space.
